Randall Mastin brings a lifetime of experience, enthusiasm, and a wealth of knowledge to string teaching and performance. Mr. Mastin began playing cello at age 8 in Eau Claire Wisconsin. He graduated with a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Wartburg College, Waverly Iowa, winning the prestigious Meistersinger scholarship has done extensive graduate work at Vandercook College in Chicago Illinois, University of Minnesota, University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire, and is certified with three violin Suzuki degrees from the Suzuki institute in Stevens Point Wisconsin. Mr. Mastin received his Master's Degree from the University of Wisconsin, La Crosse.
Mr. Mastin is an active performer and member of the La Crosse Symphony and Oneota Valley Symphony orchestra
Mr. Mastin's proudest achievement though are the hundreds of successful former students who have gone on to professional music careers or just enjoyed a lifetime of playing their instrument. He has been voted 16 times, by students, as the educator who has the most impact on their lives “I have an excellent reputation with students, parents, and community members, fostering excellence and pride amongst my students. My philosophy is to enable every student to enjoy success and to capitalize on that success every day. My dedication to the individual and my ability to foster excellent personal relationships with students make students feel comfortable and confident to do their best. Moreover, I thoroughly enjoy teaching and my passion for music is clear in everything I do.”
